Loving Shepherd Ministries assist families with international and domestic adoptions by providing resources and information in order to help families understand what their options are and which countries they are eligible to adopt from. There are over 50 countries available for international adoption; however, each country has their own set of requirements and restrictions.
Our services are at no cost to families and we receive no compensation from adoption agencies. This allows LSM to be an objective voice to adoptive families. We have done extensive research on hundreds of adoption agencies in the U.S. in order to determine ethical and experienced agencies for each country program. For example, one agency may be experienced in China but have a small and inexperienced Russia program. We want families to understand the complete adoption process and know which country options they are eligible to pursue before submitting money for an agency application. We have heard numerous families claim they started a country program and the process with an adoption agency, only to find out they were not experienced or the family did not meet the chosen country's requirements. Unfortunately, the families had already paid an initial sum of money to the agency.
Therefore, LSM is not a placement adoption agency. We are a not-for-profit Christian adoption organization that helps families at the beginning stages of adoption.
We help families with the following services:
- Which type of adoption – international, domestic or foster - is best for your family.
- Determine which countries’ laws and programs will best work with your family and which options your family is eligible to pursue.
- Provide a list of agencies that are ethical, experienced and financially stable for the specific adoption program your family chooses.
- Provide a list of home study providers in your area.
- Provides resources on how to possibly fund your adoption.
- Help answer specific questions or concerns a family may have.
- Provide various other resources to help families along their adoption journey.
We strive to make the adoption process less complicated and overwhelming.
